Lets Get Personal: Spectacles of Faith

And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith.

-I John 4:4b

As Christians we transcend this world, though we live in it. We can claim victory over it, yet we still linger amongst its shadows. For Jesus has come and promised us salvation and eternal deliverance from the death of this world in addition to the continuation of life on His perfected earth to come. However, we can only live in victory over the current forces of this world through our faith in the truth of those promises. Knowledge does not shape behavior, beliefs do. It is not enough to know the promises of the Lord, we must truly believe them and live out of them. We must put on the spectacles of faith and view every circumstance, feeling, interaction, ets. through their lenses. Then we can walk tall in victory, then we can glorify the Lord by finding our assurance in Him. One day we will see clearly without the spectacles of faith, for God's promises will be completed in Christ Jesus, plain for all eyes to see, but until then let us have faith.
